VyClimb at 10: A Decade of Producing, Protecting, and Promoting

Today marks ten years since VyClimb Consulting first launched. When I look back at 2015, I remember the feeling of stepping into something uncertain but important: the idea that safety in aviation deserved more than compliance checklists, and organizations needed partners who could walk with them, not just provide advice from a distance.

VyClimb started with a simple belief: safety should never be treated as a competitive advantage. Instead, it should be a shared commitment, a responsibility that unites operators, leaders, insurers, and regulators. Ten years later, I am proud to say that this belief has guided every project, every partnership, and every conversation.

Ten Years of Partnerships

The heart of VyClimb has always been the people and organizations we have been privileged to work with. Over the years, the list is too long to name them all, but a few of our favorite projects included working with Intermountain Health, North Memorial Air Care, Aero Med & NFAM, Boston MedFlight, Air Methods, Classic, Life Link III, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Travis County STAR Flight, CAMTS, NEMSPA, and The LOSA Collaborative.

Each collaboration has been a chance to learn, to strengthen systems, and to support leaders and teams doing some of the most critical work in aviation and healthcare. I am deeply grateful for the trust these organizations placed in us and for the opportunity to contribute in even a small way to their missions.

Living Our Principles

If there is one thing we have learned in ten years, it is that principles are more than words on a page, they are the compass that points true north when things get hard. At VyClimb, our key principles come down to three words:

  • Produce: results that matter, measurable progress, and strategies that endure.

  • Protect: lives, missions, and reputations by making safety more than a checkbox.

  • Promote: cultures where people feel empowered to speak up, to lead, and to improve.

Together these are more than a tagline, they are a standard. And when they are lived out, the outcomes are clear: Safety is strengthened, Efficiency improves, Morale rises, and Compliance holds firm.

As I look back at a decade of projects, I see this reflected not only in outcomes, but also in the people and organizations who carried them forward.

Looking Ahead

As meaningful as these first ten years have been, the next decade holds even greater promise. Aviation continues to evolve, and with it, the need for leadership, safety, and cultural resilience grows stronger every year.

I am also excited to share that VyClimb is the founding donor of a new initiative that will be announced soon. While I cannot share the full details yet, I can say this: it is rooted in the same values and principles that have guided us from the beginning. It is about investing in people, building leaders, and elevating safety for the next generation.

Gratitude and the Climb Ahead

Ten years is a milestone, but we are not leveling off, we are simply at another point in our ascent. At VyClimb, our name reminds us of that. Vy is the best rate of climb in aviation: steady, intentional, efficient, and always gaining altitude. That’s the climb we’ve been on for the last decade, and it’s the climb we intend to stay on.

To every partner, client, colleague, and friend who has been part of this journey, thank you. You have made these ten years not only possible, but meaningful.

Here is to the next steady climb together.
